Olie's parents - Percey and Polina Polie - are the best robot parents you are likely to ever meet. No matter how frantic things get, Mom and Pop never lose their lugnuts. They are able to juggle the needs and demands of their two children, elderly father, hyperactive dog, their jobs and housework with ease.

Percey and Polina are honest, quiet, decent people who try to help their community and teach their kids the right values. They let Olie and Zowie make mistakes and learn from them, but are always around to offer words of advice or encouragement when things go awry. Plus, they are just about the best Rolie Polie Rumba dancers on the entire planet.

There's, also, Pappy - Olie and Zowie's rusty grandfather - and one of their favorite people in the world. Despite being an 'oldbot' who squeaks, overheats, rattles and loses parts from time-to-time, Pappy is a class act who delights in entertaining his grandkids with tales of long-ago adventures that may, or may not, be entirely true. He is always the first one to point out to his grandchildren that they should never take life for granted, and encourages them to take time to stop and smell the rivets.
